Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant is one of the largest iron and steel enterprises in Donbas and in the southern part of Russia. At the plant, the entire metallurgical production cycle is implemented: from coke production to metal rolling.

1895 — the Donetsk-Yuryevsky Metallurgical Society (DYMO) was established on the initiative of Alexei Kirillovich Alchevsky
May 26, 1896 - the first blast furnace was launched and put into operation. By the end of the first year of operation, the plant smelted almost 32 thousand tons of pig iron.
1913 — the plant reached the highest pre-revolutionary level of production: 217 thousand tons of pig iron and 251 thousand tons of steel, 210 thousand tons of mill products
1923-1925 — the plant was on conservation due to lack of raw materials.
February 1925 — furnace № 2 was restored
1941—1942 — under bombardments the plant produced high-strength steel for engines of tanks and airplanes, and then mortar munitions.
1942 — partial evacuation of plant equipment (3.5 thousand wagons) to Ural, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan
September 1943 — the liberation of Alchevsk from occupation, the beginning of the restoration of the plant

January 4, 1977 — the largest in Donbas № 1-bis open-hearth furnace with the capacity of 2.3 million tons of pig iron per year was commissioned.

June 30, 1977 — a two-bath open-hearth steel furnace with the capacity of 1150 thousand tons of steel per year produced the first smelting.

1997 — commencement of the bankruptcy proceedings
2004 — completion of the bankruptcy by signing a settlement agreement with creditors
2005-2008 — implementation of the modernization program of the enterprise (2 continuous casting machines, ladle furnace, vacuum degasser, converter shop).
2010—2012 — modernization was continued (reconstruction of an open-hearth furnace, introduction of a new open-hearth furnace, two new converters, reconstruction of an oxygen workshop)
August 2014 — stop the work of AMP after shelling of the city
August 2015 — reactivation of AMP

February 13, 2017 — AMK stopped due to railway siege.

2017 — transfer of the company to the trust management of CJSC “External service” and resumption of work on Russian raw materials, launch of the first domain furnace.

February 2018 — launch of the second open-hearth furnace.
2019 — Start of the project on joint production of large-diameter pipes with the Khartsyzk pipe plant.
November 2020 — production stopped due to lack of raw materials.

June 15, 2021 — Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant passed to the management of UGMK.

November 2021 — blooming mill department, oxygen converter shop and plate iron department restarted working.

July 2023 — AMP became one of the first participants of the “Free Economic Zone”, created by the Government of the Russian Federation in the territory of the Lugansk People’s Republic.
October 3, 2024 — open-hearth furnace №3 was launched after 8 years of downtime and successful completion of general overhaul.
